Registration of foreign investments

As prescribed with the law of Ukraine, foreign investment is the valuables invested by foreign investors into investment objects in accordance with the law of Ukraine in order to gain profit or to achieve social effect.

Protection of foreign investment is ensured by the government. In particular, the law of Ukraine provides for guarantees in case of any amendments to legislation, guarantees of protection from forcible withdrawal, illegal actions on behalf of governmental authorities and their officers. Foreign investors are given a right for indemnification of losses incurred in the result of actions, omission or unduly performance by the governmental bodies of Ukraine (their officers) of obligations prescribed by law with regard to a foreign investor or a foreign-invested enterprise.

It should be noted that only the investment that were registered in accordance with the established procedure are entitled for privileges and guarantees provided by law.

State registration of foreign investment is a record confirming the fact of foreign investment, which is made by a state registration authority through assignment of registration number to an information message and making a respective record in a book for state registration of foreign investment.
