Obtaining the Temporary residence permit

A temporary residence permit is a document identifying a foreigner (stateless person) and confirming his/her lawful grounds for temporary residence in Ukraine.

A foreigner must apply to State Migration Service of Ukraine at least 15 days prior to expiration of the permitted stay within the territory of Ukraine. For foreigners (stateless persons) who arrived to Ukraine from the countries with visa entry to Ukraine must have a long-term visa of D type.

A permit for temporary residence is issued to foreigners (stateless persons) who arrived to Ukraine for:

• employment,
• participation in implementation of projects for international technical support, which were registered in accordance with the established procedure;
• preaching religious beliefs, conduct of religious ceremonies or other canonic activity;
• participation in operation of affiliates, branches, representative offices and other structural units of foreign public (non-governmental) organizations;
• working in representative offices of foreign legal entities in Ukraine, branches or representative offices of foreign banks; 
• conduct of cultural, scientific, educational activity, as well as participation in any international and regional volunteer programs or activity of volunteer organizations;
• working as a correspondent or a representative of foreign mass media;
• education;
• family reunion.
