Obtaining the ID code

As provided with the applicable law, State Register of Individuals – Taxpayers contains information on foreigners (stateless persons) permanently staying in Ukraine, foreigners (stateless persons) who do not have a permanent place of residence in Ukraine but – in accordance with the law – are obliged to pay taxes in Ukraine or are founders of any legal entities incorporated within the territory of Ukraine.

Foreigners must have a registration number of a taxpayer file (so called ‘identification code’) in the following cases:

• property deals requiring notarization;
• joining the founders of legal entities incorporated within the territory of Ukraine;
• employment by a Ukrainian enterprise;
• enrolment for study in Ukraine;
• obtaining a temporary permit for residence in Ukraine;
• obtaining Ukrainian citizenship;
• opening a bank account.
